Introduction to DMR
Call Types and Features
The numbering plan for DMR consists of over 16 million individual addresses. Most systems will use a subset of the DMR number range, particularly MPT1327.
A DMR network is a lot like a cellular system, every individual subscriber unit requires an individual number, every group requires a number. There are IP addresses throughout the network for a network connected devices. It’s essential to plan well ahead and put the numbers into a framework to partition the users into groups, and individuals.
Having a well-planned numbering system allows network management to apply resources to groups and individuals where they’re needed.
